Adoptive Families of the Southeast (AFSE) is intended to be a membership organization for individuals in any stage of the adoption process. We offer support and encouragement to those who desire to build or expand their families through adoption. AFSE would like to build on its core group to have a membership throughout the southeastern United States. This includes Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. AFSE does not exclude members from other states.
What We Do
AFSE is an organization that was created offer support, provide assistance, and help with necessary resources for prospective adoptive parents, parents who have completed the adoption process, or for children who are adopted.
In meeting and sharing our experiences, asking for assistance with the issues facing us as our children grow and develop, we believe we can increase awareness of adoption. We will provide many activities throughout the year that will provide emotional support for all stages of the adoption process and also include talks on how to talk to your child about his or her adoption. Meetings can also be a place for adoptive parents to share adoption stories and experiences as a way to increase adoption awareness.
AFSE is not a child-placing agency. It is solely a memberhsip organization and does not promote particular types of adoption or adoption professionals.
